Grand Blanc Cub Scout leader charged with sexually assaulting children

GRAND BLANC TOWNSHIP, Michigan -- A township Cub Scout leader allegedly sexually assaulted several children, watched them have sexual intercourse with each other and photographed them, according to the Genesee County prosecutor.

Police allege Charles J. Phillips sexually assaulted young neighbors and friends of his family, said Prosecutor David Leyton. The victims, six boys and a girl, range in age from 9 to 13.  See more at:

Flint Doctor Helps Combat Shaken Baby Syndrome

FLINT, Michigan -- It was only 10 seconds.

In October, police testified in Genesee County Circuit Court that Paul D. Powell II, 17, shook his 8-month-old daughter Takyra Rene Banks "for a period of about 10 seconds" because she would not stop crying. Powell is now awaiting trial for murder and first-degree child abuse in the July 17th death.

even if their moms are in jail.   "Children

Operation frees dozens of child prostitutes across the US

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Dozens of juveniles have been freed from forced prostitution by a nationwide operation that resulted in the arrests of hundreds of other people, the FBI announced Monday. 

In the three-day operation, which began Thursday night, the FBI, along with local and state law enforcement agencies, took the 46 girls and one boy -- all of them U.S. citizens ages 13 to 17 -- into protective custody.

Former Flint teacher accused of sex with 12-year-old student released on personal recognizance

FLINT, Michigan -- A former Flint elementary school teacher accused of having sex with a 12-year-old student won't see any jail time or even have to pay bond -- at least for the time being.

Allanah Benton-Wells, 42, was arraigned Tuesday on two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, a felony punishable by up to life in prison, for allegedly having sex with a sixth-grade boy when she was supposed to be helping him with his homework.
